Camila Kraus is a Brazilian conductor, harpsichordist, and producer.
She holds a Bachelor’s in Orchestral Conducting from Unesp, under the guidance of professors Lutero Rodrigues and Abel Rocha, and she complemented her studies in masterclasses with several renomed conductors such as Neil Thomson, Robert Trevino and Alejandra Urrutia. Her highlights include participation in the VI and VII Orchestral Conducting Workshop with Orquestra Filarmônica de Goiás as well as a concert with the Orquesta de Cámara del Municipal de Santiago at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago. Camila currently studies with Cláudio Cruz at Emesp, leading the Orquestra Jovem do Estado in rehearsals as a participant in the young talents conductor’s program.
As a harpsichordist, she received orientation from Alessandro Santoro, Fernando Cordella, James Johnstone, João Rival, and Violaine Cochard. Miss Kraus played continuo in various baroque masterpieces, such as Il Combattimento di Tancredi et Clorinda, Bach’s 3rd Orchestral Suite, and Handel’s music for fireworks, and her collaborations include concerts with Orquestra Gru Sinfônica, Orquestra Arte Barroca, among others.
Her activities as a producer cover the organization and production of the Ópera em Pauta, held at the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo and conceived by the Fórum Brasileiro de Ópera, Dança e Música de Concerto, in which she works within the Public Politics personal, guided by Flávia Furtado. Her proximity to opera, allowed her to work in different stages of the productions, namely internal conductor, assistant conductor, Maestra alla luce, assistant to scenic direction, and stage direction.
